Acne scars - middle third
Acne scars, along with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, are the marks that acne can leave even after the pimples have cleared. During the infection process, the body responds by sending white blood cells to fight the bacteria, which leads to inflammation. This process can cause pores to become inflamed and rupture, spreading the infection to the surrounding tissue. The result is uneven skin texture and scarring that can range from keloids to deep depressions. Over time, these scars become more noticeable as the skin loses its natural elasticity, further highlighting their appearance.
