Biography

Magally Capriles, 30, is passionate about wellness. She is the CEO and co-founder of Lamarca Well, Roots Lamarca, and Tracy Anderson Method Madrid—three concepts: a shop, a restaurant, and a gym. Together, they form a Wellness Hub in Madrid at Calle Fernando VI 10, where gatherings are constantly taking place. But Lamarca Well goes even further, transforming into a digital space or platform where you can not only buy products but also read and learn about wellness topics from experts in health, sports, mindful eating, mental health, mindfulness, natural beauty, sustainability, and anything related to well-being.

Who is Magally as a leader and as a person?

I'm the eldest of three sisters and the first of seven grandchildren on my mother's side, which I believe greatly influenced my personality and my desire to teach and lead within my small circle of sisters and cousins. Also, my zodiac sign is Aries, and I understand that being the first sign of the zodiac has a lot to do with it. From a young age, I've enjoyed learning and sharing what I've learned, not only with my family but also with my friends.
Every experience, every mistake, every lesson I've learned, I've always shared very openly because I like being able to help those close to me experience the positive things I discover or avoid the mistakes I make. I love listening and giving advice ; sometimes I think I would have been happy as a psychologist or coach.

I love learning, reading, and reflecting. I have a creative and musical side that I never developed as an adult; however, I believe that entrepreneurship has given me the space to use my creative side to dream, combining it with leadership and my dream of inspiring everyone to live a life of well-being.

Tell us, what has been your journey to becoming an entrepreneur?

I was born in Venezuela and grew up there until I landed in Madrid at the age of 25. Here, despite the difficulty of leaving my homeland, I found a welcoming city, full of family and friends, which allowed me to continue learning about my passion: wellness .
I studied law in Caracas, but it wasn't until I embarked on a project that I discovered what I truly loved. I'm a nature lover, a sports enthusiast, a proponent of healthy living, and an environmentalist. More recently, I've been drawn to yoga as a form of mindfulness . I've always been surrounded by the philosophy of living in motion and promoting well-being, as these are the values we practiced as a family since childhood. However, at 22, I developed a boutique gym in Venezuela with two friends, where I truly discovered my innate passion for wellness.
When I moved to Madrid in 2017, I knew there was nothing else I wanted to do. And so, together with my two sisters, Mischka and Mayra, Lamarca Well was born. It is primarily comprised of Lamarca Well, Roots Lamarca, and Tracy Anderson Method Madrid.

What is Lamarca Well and what is its philosophy?

Lamarca Well (formerly Lab Lamarca) is a platform where you can buy, read, and learn everything about wellness from leading voices and experts in the field (All Things Wellness) . The store focuses on products that promote health and well-being: activewear and comfortwear, a WellBar full of innovative health products, natural beauty products, nutricosmetics, supplements, nutrition programs, and more; as well as accessories and books related to healthy living, travel, and sustainability. The content platform is constantly growing with high-quality content (articles, interviews, videos, and audio) on any topic related to wellness. It also has a physical space, our flagship store, where it all began: a shop on Calle Fernando VI in the Justicia neighborhood of Madrid, which quickly became a venue for events, pop-ups, experts, and wellness projects . Within this project there is also Roots Lamarca , a healthy food restaurant and raw vegan pastry shop that already has 4 locations in Madrid, and Tracy Anderson Method Madrid , the first center in Europe of this well-known American trainer.

Lamarca Well's philosophy is based on an active, healthy, and mindful lifestyle. Active, because it's important to be in motion; human beings need to move, stretch, dance, and walk. Healthy, because it's crucial for our well-being to take care of our eating habits, sleep, and daily practices to nurture our mental, physical, and spiritual health. Mindful, because all of this must be done consciously, being present, understanding the reasons behind it, and not simply following a passing trend. Furthermore, we must be mindful not only of ourselves but also of the planet we live on, with which we must be in harmony and which we must care for to maintain our balance. Only in this way can we truly achieve well-being.

What motivated you to create this project?

Many things: first, my desire to continue developing my newly discovered entrepreneurial spirit. Also, the excitement of bringing something new to Madrid, something that wasn't being talked about as much as in other parts of the world. This combined with the desire to keep learning and growing in the wellness sector for my own health and to be able to share it with others . My family: on the one hand, my husband, who always encourages me to believe in myself and take risks, and has been a great support and pillar of this project. And on the other hand, my sisters and, above all, my parents, who have not only always taught us by example to lead an active, healthy, and mindful life, but have also been an example of always "doing things," and doing them with purpose . Because if you do something with a purpose that goes beyond yourself or financial gain, for some magical reason, things turn out well. It's not the goal itself you're pursuing, although that's certainly important, but rather knowing along the way that you're learning, helping, and making a difference in the world.
I love knowing that the products we sell, the content we write, and the service we offer can change lives and contribute to people's well-being . It's very rewarding and a great motivator to keep going, even when difficult or stressful times arise.

“We must be mindful not only of ourselves, but also of the planet we live on.” How do you balance your project with a healthy lifestyle?
It's closely related; sometimes I feel like it's the same thing. This project was born from the lifestyle we led as a family, and it's only evolved in this way. You can only share it by living and implementing it . Everything I discover through my project I try to apply to my daily life, and everything I discover on my own while living a healthy lifestyle I try to bring to the project, researching further so I can share it with the world. This applies to products we discover to sell in the shop, topics or content that we then develop in depth by seeking out experts who can communicate them better, as well as new foods and recipes that we introduce at Roots.

- Relationship with beauty:

What is beauty to you and how do you experience it in your daily routine?

For me, beauty isn't just about what you show on the outside, but also about what you radiate—what you carry within. In my personal evolution and growth toward well-being, I've realized the connection between looking good by working on your inner self and feeling good by working on your outer self, as the latter improves self-esteem. That's why I'm increasingly incorporating things into my routine that make me feel and look good, and getting rid of things that I know bring me discomfort . Believe it or not, every little thing influences your inner health, which is then reflected in your outer health and beauty. More of the good, less of the bad.

What or who inspires you in your day-to-day life?

EVERYONE! We all have something to learn and something to teach. I love reflecting with people on anything that might be happening in their lives, or in mine: achievements or failures, dreams or pain, insecurities and fears, experiences. It helps me grow.

Who are your beauty icons?

This is a tough one! If I have to talk about icons: I'm inspired by my mother who looks 30, I'm inspired by everything that radiates beauty and vitality in the skin, because
Through her, you can see that they are doing well internally, that they love each other and make an effort to take care of themselves.
I am also greatly inspired by all those who radiate self-confidence and spread it, especially those who show themselves with their flaws and without complexes, who admire and love their body, their skin, their face, their hair and do not use filters, neither on social networks, nor in life.

What's the best advice you've ever received?

Ugh, so many… but recently, Bernardino, my yoga teacher, gave me one of the best I've ever heard:
What happens if you're skiing through pine trees and you're looking at the pine trees? You crash! As in any sport: "where you look is where you go".
If you focus on the road instead of the pine trees, you'll avoid them. The same is true in life. If you go through life focusing on problems, you'll keep crashing into them . It's better to focus on the solutions (the path) and navigate life more smoothly without so many collisions. Because even if you do crash, sooner or later you'll have to stop and keep going.

“Beauty is not only what you show on the outside but also what you radiate, which is what you carry inside.”

- Beauty Questionnaire:

What is your skincare routine?

My routine consists of eating healthy most of the time and deviating from it when enjoyment contributes more to my well-being than restricting myself.
I always start my day with a green juice, and if I don't, I notice it. I also fast a lot; at least three times a year I do five-day assisted fasts , and the benefits I see, both inside and out, are amazing. The benefits of fasting for health, mental clarity, and longevity are well-documented. I prioritize sleep above all else , a minimum of seven hours, but eight or nine is even better if I can get them. I exercise a lot ; it contributes to feeling good physically, which is a big part of "beauty," and I'm convinced it also influences my mood.

As for my skincare routine , I recently started taking it more seriously. I try to get professional skincare once a month , I use a lot of moisturizer several times a day since Madrid's climate is very dry, I use hyaluronic acid daily, and if I feel dehydrated, I use a Vitamin C serum. My favorite brand is Barbara Sturm, but I also use some specific products from Natura Bissé and Biologique Republish. All of this has changed my skin and, consequently, my self-esteem .
I don't use makeup , only the RMS brand; almost all of their products are made with coconut oil and provide a lot of luminosity without looking too made up or making your face dirty with excess ingredients.

As for other habits, I try to get massages of any kind (Ayurvedic, lymphatic, relaxing) once or twice a week, or I switch to alternative therapies like Shiatsu or Craniosacral. I see an alternative medicine doctor every two months who guides me on supplementation depending on my body's needs. I use a natural deodorant (Malin + Goetz) since it's a very delicate area that shouldn't be exposed to toxins. I practice tongue scraping every morning and dry brushing when I remember, as I often forget, as well as Gua Sha. I don't drink coffee, but I drink a lot of tea and cacao . I supplement my daily routine with adaptogens like Ashwagandha and Reishi, depending on my needs.

I strive to find time for things that relax me or bring me satisfaction, like spending time with my family, going out with friends when I need a break, enjoying nature, gazing at the sea , doing yoga or playing sports, singing or listening to music, and sometimes simply being in silence. Finally, and most importantly, I'm constantly trying to be mindful and learn to listen to my body , the signals it gives me, so I can get to know myself better and understand what I need and when I need it to achieve that inner and outer beauty and the holistic health that encompasses them. A foolproof trick or product:

Product:

- Barbara Sturm (Hyaluronic Serum, Sun drops, Face Cream, The Good C Vitamin C Serum).

Tricks:

- Green juice in the morning

- Fasting 3 times a year to prevent chronic diseases: I recommend the PROLON program.

- Practice sports for self-esteem and good mood.

- Practice Yoga for mental balance, anxiety and stress (if you find it difficult to meditate, get a yoga teacher to help you do meditation postures).

- Pamper yourself at least once a week for your inner and outer beauty: massage, facial, alternative therapy or self-care at home with gua sha, dry brush, lighting candles and being with yourself.

- One I recently discovered that has worked for me more than 5 times this year: Stopping constipation with turmeric. Lots of turmeric in your breakfast, in your teas throughout the day, at lunch, and at dinner.

A subject that needs addressing (in terms of beauty)

Getting back into the exercise routine I love, which I've put aside for my daughters (no pressure, everything in its own time), as well as my reading habits, especially on wellness topics, and getting up when the sun rises. Showering with cooler water, protecting myself from the sun, and using 100% natural shampoos. Less phone use and TV at night to avoid disrupting my circadian rhythms and to sleep better. Continuing to work on and improve my yoga, meditation, and mindfulness practices because we all know the benefits they have for beauty and health.
