Interview with
Janelle Hallier
and its keys to starting a business in the world of beauty
Biography

Janelle Hallier is a Californian entrepreneur with two truly remarkable projects under her belt. She has not only dedicated herself to founding her own brand and product line for skincare and holistic nutrition, but also to establishing an association to empower and mentor successful women. For her, it is truly meaningful to develop her businesses with generosity, purpose, and spirit. Below, she shares her foolproof keys to entrepreneurial success and her profound concept of beauty.
I started working in the health and wellness field, having a private practice in Los Angeles.
Subsequently, I holistically created beauty products to sell directly to the consumer – after signing an exclusive agreement with the Violet Grey boutique.
My latest project has been the creation of a global leadership community of extraordinary and elite women.
What is the best advice you have received throughout your professional career?
“If the path to achieving what you want is not clear, create it yourself.”
What motivated you to create The Association?
Women typically tend to think that we should have our next move, business, and company sorted out.
What if you didn't have to do it alone?
Startup founders and female entrepreneurs know that at the top, you can feel isolated and alone.
What if we created a support and confidant group for your business, and we all collaborated to find solutions to our problems?
This is how The Association was born.
A global group – made up of successful women – that aims to provide support, both professionally and personally.
Janelle Hallier
“Beauty should not be based solely on appearance or the products you use.
For me, beauty is much deeper than that.”
What have been the challenges of starting a new business?
I kept reminding myself that things weren't going to be perfect from the start.
Who have been your beauty icons?
I love Alicia Keys, Zoe Saldana, Penélope Cruz and Paz Vega.
BEAUTY QUESTIONNAIRE
- What is your morning beauty routine?
Using a microfiber washcloth, I cleanse my face with just water. I apply Dennis Grossman AHA and BHA pads and an HA and Vitamin C rosewater toner. Finally, depending on how my skin feels, I mix bronzer with a light moisturizer or oil.
- What are your favorite products?
I love using natural products; any ingredient from the kitchen will always be my first choice.
At night I use sesame oil on my body, and during the day I apply matcha tea as a calming toner. Also, I think honey is wonderful as a face mask, don't you?
I also really like other active ingredients such as pearl powder, retinal A, AHAs/BHAs, niacinamide, and beta-glucan.
- Tell us a foolproof beauty secret or product.
A very cheap beauty secret is to spray freshly squeezed lemon juice on your face for glowing skin.
Want to know another secret?
To have skin in the best condition, you must follow a routine maintenance program and never stop it!
Some of the devices I use at home for daily skincare include a radiofrequency machine, an electric microneedling pen, a microcurrent device, and a mesotherapy gun to maintain my naturally glowing skin. Additionally, all the treatments I receive at Beldon Beauty—such as facials and the Accent Prime—greatly benefit my skincare routine.
- Your favorite beauty look that never fails.
A bronze-colored smokey eye.
- How do you take care of your beauty from the inside out?
I always pay attention to the vitamins and nutrients in the foods I eat. I enjoy smoothies, beauty bowls, green juices, and vegetables. I also research the benefits of other foods and add them to my diet if I'm convinced.
- What is your favorite exercise or sport?
I love salsa dancing and yoga. I recently discovered the FitOn app. It has lots of fun classes, and you can choose your workout based on how much time you have.
- A pending issue in the world of beauty.
Beauty shouldn't be based solely on appearance or the products you use.
For me, beauty is much deeper than that.
If I focus on languages and art, I feel beauty and passion inside.
If I focus on living life with joy and kindness, I am connected to love.
If I focus on living life with intention and purpose, I find myself calm and empowered.
All those attributes define my concept of beauty. Ultimately, they endure over time, while superficial beauty fades away. Don't forget that.
For me, beauty is much deeper than that.
- Summer is coming soon, what would your beauty routine be and how are you preparing for this season?
When the weather gets warmer, I make the most of it by spending time outdoors. I love going for walks and soaking up the sun, but it's important to protect myself from it. I love using Esthederm Body Sun Oil because it helps protect my skin and hair if I overexpose myself to the sun.
